It really doesn’t get more refreshing than a chilled glass of homemade lemon iced tea! This lemon iced tea recipe is so easy to make and, you can actually taste real tea and real lemon – not just sweetness. Definitely, a drink to cool the heat!
My husband and I previously lived in Singapore and the most frequent food and drink that we ate there were charsiu pork with noodles and their iced lemon tea. That was my first time to taste an iced tea that was freshly made. Back then we always bought those commercially packed iced tea. As Singapore is also a big consumer of teas, they have a variety of iced and hot teas, but the version from their hawker centres (food court) was our favorite. When we went home to Manila, we craved and craved for the taste and we finally came up with this recipe. It is actually very simple to make – black tea bags, sugar, fresh lemon juice, and ice. In Manila where lemons can be quite expensive and not always available, I sometimes used calamansi concentrate and it tastes equally good!
